I would say go for it. my mother and my first cousin have the same name. my
mother is malka and she is tzipporah malkah. so if my aunt who is very
religious can do it i would go for it. what is the hebrew name. this is what
matters

In our family we have about 15 cousins with the same name (after my
grandfather). The only time this would be a problem is if your father
or father-in-law or other living grandfathers have the same name. The
rule doesn't apply to cousins, aunt, uncles, nephews etc.
